As a working mother of 2 energetic boys, I've had my fair share of stress, anxiety and insomnia as most women my age have! However, after years of daily exercise and clean eating, these symptoms didn't get better and instead seemed to continually have a new one added to it. More moodiness, more weight fluctuations, more PMS symptoms, more burnout. It got me thinking about how much hormones control women's lives! As a physician assistant practicing for over 12 years, I noticed that girls at a younger age were experiencing more hormonal symptoms namely from environmental changes which mainly include food and movement. So about 2 years ago, in a selfish effort to improve my own symptoms, I began to create a program utilizing hormone research and started training and eating in a cyclic way to leverage women's normal monthly fluctuating hormones. About 2-3 months into it, I started to notice many of my hormonal imbalances disappear! As a NASM certified corrective exercise specialist, I tried out this program on other women and the results were a reduction in weight, increased muscle definition, improved depression, getting off anxiety medications, improved sleep, and getting a new understanding and control over their bodies. I wanted to create a program for the everyday woman that didn't involve under or over training but got great results! 28 Unlocked has shown that you can leverage your hormones to maximize mind and body gains.
